Astonishingly Swift! Obtain Your Passport at the Remarkable ‘Special Passport Fairs’ – The U.S. Department of State has unveiled a series of “Special Passport Acceptance Fairs” happening nationwide from March through April 2024. This initiative aims to streamline the passport application process, especially for first-time applicants.
Hassle-Free Passport Applications
Applying for a passport can often feel daunting, with stringent requirements for photographs, documents, and application forms. However, these fairs are designed to simplify the process by providing guidance and on-site acceptance of applications.
“The Special Passport Acceptance Fairs offer a convenient solution for those seeking a smooth passport application experience,” stated a State Department official.
What You Need to Bring
Attendees must come prepared with the following:
- Completed DS-11: Application for a U.S. Passport form
- Valid photo identification
- Certified birth certificate
- Payment for application and acceptance fees
Those renewing passports are encouraged to do so online.
Fees and Processing Times
For adult applicants, the total cost is $165, comprising a $130 application fee and a $35 acceptance fee. For children, the fees amount to $135 ($100 application fee and $35 acceptance fee).
The State Department guarantees routine processing times for applications submitted through these fairs. However, expedited service ($60 additional) and rush delivery ($20 additional) are available for those needing passports sooner.
Applicants requiring passports urgently should schedule appointments at one of the 26 passport agency offices across the country.
Convenient Locations
From early March to April, 44 Special Passport Acceptance Fairs will be held at various public venues, including libraries, government offices, and post office locations nationwide.
“Bringing these fairs to local communities ensures accessibility and convenience for all citizens seeking passports,” remarked a State Department spokesperson.
